Developer Looking for game programmers and artists to help in first game prototype. We are already being commisioned by a publisher, but because we haven''t any product, they are kinda leery in supporting us financially. We have one programmer who is self taught. This is very serious, the publisher that we are involved with is a highly respected member of the game community and I can give more information to any if you email me at Gamer Spirit@aol.com and I will give you all the information.

I''m sorry but I have to post this.

I''ve seen similar type posts in the past from people saying they have a publisher interested but then they don''t have anything at all to show and want to quickly throw a team together to do something to show. Ummm am I the only one that thinks this sounds like BS?

Maybe your right and I''m wrong, but if there was any truth to the matter then I''ld expect to see some proof or details regarding the situation.

I imagine some people may actually talk to publishers who tell them sure I''ld be interested in your game. Doesn''t mean they are going to accept or back it, but that they would just be interested because they know it''s easier to patronize people then discourage them. This in turn make the people think they actually have some for sure deal and now all they have to do is come up with a demo and a game of some kind.

I''m not ranting here, I''m just saying if people are going to make such claims then PLEASE post some proof to back their claims. Ok maybe I am ranting.

I usually stay out of these posts, but I''m feeling talkative today and I''ve been wanting to say this for a long time...

Maybe there''s a good reason for it, and if so please enlighten me, but why do these posts always say "email me for the info"? Call me lazy, but, no, I will not email you for the info. If you have some deal with a publisher, tell us about here in the post.

I''m just plain tired of seeing a hundred messages just like this one "We''ve got a deal, email me and I''ll tell you about it". the wording is different from message to message, but the content is always identical, and always close to zero.

I don''t mean to sound confrontational, and please, if there''s a good reason for this I''d love to hear it, but I''m really annoyed by these messages.

Lot''s of apologies for all the toes I just stepped on. Have a good one, and please please please, posts a help wanted without using the words "email me for details"
If a man is talking in the forest, and there is no woman there to hear him, is he still wrong?

As usual with posting here there is always skeptics. Well since Ive recently found its okay to do so Ill talk about my company and our deal. The publisher that is currently interested in us is Rockstar Games, the child company of Take 2 Interactive which is based in New York City , my company the Pantheon Group is also based in New York City, after hooking up with Rockstar at the Playstation 2''s debut in New York City, (where we also met Kaz Hirai who gave us developer information- Thanks Mr. Hirai) not too long after that we did our presentation, our game is currently running on the european development kit called DIV, we are currently working with DarkBasic and recently made a bid to get into Microsoft''s Developer Incubation Program where we are trying to get an Xbox SDK so we can finish the prototype of our game which is old school, (with new age graphics and sounds) style martial arts game. Rockstar and one of its producers are currently helping us get the SDK because they see great potential in us and like our enthusiasm and want to sign us as a longterm developer, but we only have one programmer at this time because it is hard to find programmers versed in videogame coding in New York who aren''t working already or who will work for free, now we aren''t just looking for programmers based in Nyc, but they would be preferable for obvious reasons, any programmers that can help us will be compensated in royalties and if youre interested offered a job, if youre out of state we would need you to relocated once the full project is underway. All artists will be contacted for future projects and how your deal turns out depends on both ours and yours situation and how many projects your art can be used for. I hope I answered any questions. If youre interested again email me at either Gamer Spirit@aol.com or Madnon@aol.com

By the way once the full project is underway there will be salaries so any relocation to nyc once this happens you will have a full time job with salary, etc.
