Don't you already have enough threads asking about this? (link, link).

You got a good suggestion here.

I thought i had enough threads, but im getting too anxious. So firstly sorry about multiple threads, and secondly haha does anybody on these forums use JOAL or LWJGL for (OpenAL)? Because all the forums i read about JOAL or LWJGL OpenAL are deserted. These forums are extrememly active so i thought i'd have a better chance here.

Please excuse my impatience, its partically due to the frustrations of downloading one thing and then find out i hve to download more and more and then it not working lol it just keeps going :(

Your LWJGL error looks like you've not got your files in the correct place (or, you've not got your paths setup right). Head over to lwjgl.org and read some of the docs. Also try the official support forums (http://lwjgl.org/forum/). It may look deserted but it's pretty active.

I personally found Joal to be too buggy to be usable. :(

You don't need the OpenAL SDK to use LWJGL, only the OpenAL dll. Never put third party jar files or DLLs in your JRE or JDK directory tree. You need to stop being impatient and read the documentation for the tools you are using. I suggest you try the following:

1) Create a directory somewhere that you can stash libraries and such for your development. I have a directory C:\dev, and subdirectories for each language. In C:\dev\java I have the subdirectories C:\dev\java\classes and C:\dev\java\libs. I put all third party jars and class files in the classes subdir, and DLLs in libs.

2) When you run a java app from the command line, supply use the -cp command line argument with the path to your third party classes along with the current directory. Also supply the path to your dlls with the -Djava.library.path= argument:

java -cp .;C:\dev\java\classes -Djava.library.path=C:\dev\java\libs MyApp

When running from an IDE, such as Eclipse or Netbeans, you still need to supply the class path and library path, but each IDE is different and you'll need to read the documentation for the IDE you use to do so.

Sorry for my impatience, ill work on it. So where do i aquire the OpenAL dll?

Hint #1: It comes with LWJGL.

Hint #2: It ends with ".dll".

Hint #3: It's called lwjglaudio.dll (Damn those sneaky programmers, and their confusing naming schemes!!!)
