plz let me know , i need to develop a walk through interactive presentation for a coloney in 3d environment , in which i can walk through the roads of the coloney with the help of mouse or keybord showing all the aspects of the coloney to the coloniser in order to have a better feel of the coloney virtually before actually developing a real coloney. rgrds vikas

Anyways, to help we need to know what 3d program are you running. I think that blender has something that might allow you to do this already built in but I really am not sure being a rhino and wings man myself. If i'm right though you can probably export your model into blender (you'll have to download it if you dont have it, its free though.) and then work with a tutorial or at the very worst buy the blender book, although i'm sure you wont have to; theres alot of blender tuts. out there (I think because there are alot of people who want to use a workflow designed to twist your fingers into kots or speed up carpal-tunnels after spending days shifting through page after page of hotkey buttons to learn it in the first place.....or maybe cause there are alot of people that are either new to 3d or that dont want to pay 8,000 dollars for maya....anyone know how much student version of maya is?)

Good luck!

I sense that this is going to take you a lot of time, my friend. You'll want to model the colony, and then set the camera path and export. This thread has links to all sorts of 3D software package that you might want to look at.

What sort of concept art and ideas do you already have? Do you have a team, software, what? I'm still not even sure what you're trying to do, actually.

For the actual presentation, I would recomend using VRML, as it's a very portable, easy to use 3d Navigatable environment. Now it's just a matter of finding the tools to build it...
If you have access to it, something like Max or maya should work, or you could go with Blender. (Which is free).
