3D Studio Max

Ok I''m saving up for 3D Studio Max R3.1 Student version...which is $1000.00. When you''re in school, that is equivalent to about $5000.00 with all your expenses and everything...hehe. Anyways on to my question....since I''m saving up for the program...in the mean time I downloaded a warez version of 3DSM and in the tutorials it talks about World Creating Toolkit, and I was wondering if that is included with 3D Studio Max/Character Studio package or is it something you have to buy separately. I want to do the tutorials but I can''t finish most of them b/c it needs files from the toolkit...anybody who owns it send a few of them to me? I don''t know, but all I can say is that here in Australia the student edition is AUS$200 (or AUS$218 I think). Anyway... In US$ that is about $100... So go figure

I''ve seen it for about $268 AUS. $1000 US sounds like a lot.

At the CO-OP bookshop it is availably for AUS$218... Because I drool over it everytime I go in there...

The answer to your question is: If youre using the warez version, dont expect the full version...and an amendment to that, dont use the warez version, just wait til you can afford it.

That still doesn''t answer my question. Does the world creating toolkit come with the full version or not? Geez.

I had a quick look at www.discreet.com (how I though of that
is beyond me!) and it didn''t appear in the product list.

...Now does the Student version come with everything?

I was sure I read somewhere that they were going to release a free (limited, I''m sure) version of 3D Studio, but I can''t find anything about it on the www.

I think on their website they have an application form for getting a demo cd of their products...that might be what you''re thinking of?

you are talking about gMAX, so no you didnt imagine it. It is a version of 3D Studio MAX designed specifically for mod making, and therefore has limited features. It will be available for free download, and will also be included with certain games. The version included with games i think will be modified by the game publisher to better suit creating art etc for that game. (ie extra plugins etc.)

Does anyone know where I can find some info on 3dsmax? I am really curious about it, and would like to learn how to use it. I just don''t have that kind of money laying around (I even had to cheap out and get the ''introductory'' version of M$VC++).
