When you respond to a thread, and delete your post, it bumps it to the top and leaves a mark on the forum's index page. Now, I realize the mods can still see it with a bright red '[THIS POST HAS BEEN DELETED]'... but it seems like it would make more sense to delete it and not mark the thread with the 'last replied.'

Good point - although I must admit I've used this a couple of times to keep the READ BEFORE POSTING at the top of Help Wanted, as I noticed some people seem to have issues noticing it still.

It just occured to me though, it would be significantly harder to actually fix this than to leave it how it is (which doesn't seem to have caused any major problems). After all, it would require remembering the previous state of the thread in order to restore it.

Hm, you make a good point. Plus, it would be bumped, with no apparent explanation. The only people who would know would be mods, and people would be asking questions about it all the time... And I guess it doesn't really cause any major problems [grin].

You know, you post here a lot. Not that I and others don't, but you post in a lot of forums, and you're always helpful. Keep it up, you do a lot for the community.
