Hey everybody! I''ve worked with DirectInput / mouse routines and they work. They don''t work fine, but they work for the moment. I have a very strange problem: the mouse cursor is there and it moves, but it moves rather sluggish, meaning: it seems to be skipping a couple of frames until it''s being updated. I''ve set the timer to 30 times a second (just like in the dinput example), but actually, the program doesn''t seem to care about the timer settings. Any ideas?

try using frame based modeling instead of locking the frame rate. that should make the mouse smoother and everything will run at the speed you want it too.

The video driver may be buffering many frames ahead, so it looks like the mouse is lagging, when really, it just isn''t being rendered until a few frames later.

You can try to flush the driver''s queue by acquiring a lock on the back buffer, this should cause all previous operations to complete before returning.
