Opera Browser Problem

Does anyone know anything about Opera web-browser? I just installed version 4.02 trial edition. It works fine, it is very fast, stable and compact browser. But there''s one serious bug. I installed Macromedia shockwave / flash plugins and that''s when my problems started. It still works fine, but whenever I go to a site with flash animations, it just freezes completely! Sometimes I am able to exit the page (barely), but sometimes I have to exit with ctrl + alt + del. Because I really like it and I am going to buy it, it would be nice to know how to fix this bug, or at least know what causes it.

Try reinstalling the plug in and if that doesnt work then the browser. I had no probs with 4.01 and flash.

Well, I tried reinstalling those plugins, after that I reinstalled Opera, neither worked. That is a shame because I really love this browser, but I won''t use a browser with which I must always avoid certain sites or see half of the page because I can''t use animations.... snif....

Any other ideas how to fix it? My processor is 450 mhz, could it be that the program needs more kick to run everything smoothly? I am running Windows 98 (version 4.10.1998) with 128 mb of RAM and plenty of HD space. So, I am a bit confused because everything "should" work OK, but then, so "should" Windows... heheh....

Believe me thats enough power for opera. Maybe its a bug in 4.02 try 4.01 or look for a patch maybe I''m not sure I''ve had no problems with it.

Yep, I might try 4.01. Any idea where to find it? (full version with JAVA). So far I have found only 4.02, it seems no one keeps 4.01 available for download anymore....

Once more about Opera:

Well, I found version 4.01 I also found version 4.0. I might try if they work better with shockwave / flash. But can you tell me following:

1. What version of Shockwave / Flash do you have and where did you get it?

2. How exactly did you install the plugin? Opera seems to be quite a tricky, and it seems installing the plugin requires some tweaking....
