Of course it did. But the manner they went about removing the article is, lets just say, alot less than I expected from the Staff. Even if it was a bad article, just remove it! You dont insult the author, it is a f-ing donation which you can post on your site with your own discretion. Maybe its just a way to cover up poor site management, and instead blame the quailty of the sites content on the author. Thats really f-ing weak.

I coulda sworn I saw a post here - musta gotten deleted by the guy. Ah well, whoever he was - I agree with him. It''s probably just some inside joke or something. I sure wouldn''t like that done to me (I''m being serious now, btw ). The jury calls Myopic Rhino to the stand.....

You''re not going crazy...that was me. When I edited my post to fix a typo I also deleted the rest of the post. All I had said was that the article was relocated and, perhaps , as part of an inside joke that no one was supposed to see, the page firahs linked to was put there. It''s probably not the only one. Doesn''t make it right, doesn''t mean I care .

All I wanted to say was that the article was not trashed, just relocated.

I really think firahs is opening up a whole other can of worms that is none of my business (or anyone elses'' business, as firahs has pointed out before).

If you really didn't want it there it could have been politely removed..that is a bit rediculous. Especially if someone went to all that time writing that exclusively for this site. I don't care how much an article sucks ass there is always information that can be picked out of it. Plus something "sucking ass" is also sometimes a matter of opinion.

Goes to show that this site isn't too professional after all.

somethingawful.com just went on my shitlist of least favorite websites. I have an idea, how about putting themselves on somethingawful.com they certainly are awful, and their reviews are complete crap. FFVIII wasn't that bad of a game. Not to mention they use the "F" word in their reviews..wow I'm really gonna believe their reviews now.

Ahhhh... gotcha there Graylien. Thanks for confirming the fact that my eyesight is indeed A-OK I also understand what you mean now. Yeah, it would be quite easy for somebody to do that I guess. If not a member of the GDNet staff (hope not) then someone coulda probably hacked in and put it up. Either way, it''s in bad taste - I thought that was an OK article now that I think about it (Ow, that hurts...)

Okay, I agree with everything that has been said here criticizing that message. I didn''t do it, and I don''t condone that kind of behaviour. We know who is responsible, and we''re dealing with it internally. This action did not represent the policies of GameDev.net in any way.

I''d like to issue a public apology to Geoff that this sort of thing happened. It was completely unprofessional, and well below the high standards we set for ourselves. The article has been restored to it''s original format for now.

Lowtax is entitled to his opinion about Geoff''s game (Geoff will freely admit that it''s not a great game, but given the circumstances under which he had to complete it, it''s still quite an accomplishment), but I have NEVER thought there was anything wrong or innacurate about Geoff''s articles. They answer some of the most commonly asked questions here, and it would be a shame to remove them.

The article has been returned to its original status. In regards to who did it, yes, someone on the staff did it, and it''s been taken care of. It''s not something that will happen again.

Official staff statement: We don''t care about Geoff anymore. Anything with him is over and done with.

The mention of SA in the chat room from my side of things was because SA was mentioning an article that is on this site. Bad press it may be, but it''s press.
