hi, I''m kinda clueless here, so bare with me ;-) I downloaded the zlib files and when I include zlib.h, i get a whole mess of unresolved externs. Now i''m pretty sure i either need to use a shared DLL or a linkable LIB (preferably the LIB) but how do I go about making one of those with the files provided. I''m using MSVC++ 6.0 on WindowsME. Would anyone happin to know how to go about compiling it? you make a workspace with the source provided, and compile it into a library file. then you simply link that lib to your project.

zlib comes with makefiles. To use the win32 makefile with MSVC, you should be able to use "nmake /f Makefile.w32" from command line. (Of course call vcvars32.bat to prep the environment first.)
