I made a simple full screen application using win32 and directx. All the app does is open a fullscreen window. My window style is WS_POPUP and WS_VISIBLE. When I create a primary surface, it works fine. But as soon as I attach a back surface to the primary, the window does not show. Even if I create an offscreen surface and not a back surface, the window does not show. All the surfaces are 800x600x16bpp and are being created in video memory. If anyone knows some reasons why this would happen, let me know. thanks, saied

Nope. But try using DirectX 8 and the d3d framework. Directx8 framework even hides you from ever having to create a back buffer. . . =) I know this is a weenie answer but its true.

I put another thread "Directx Downgrade" in which I said I was using directx 8, but since I was new, I decided to stick to directx 7 because the info on it is much easier to find. I just want to know why it''s not working.
