I'm no artist but I wanted to congratulate you on making a small techdemo showing that your idea is feasible! I wish more people would do that before posting for help. Would make this forum alot more serious.

Well best of luck and hope you find someone! =D

with such a demo you shouldn't need a website :) save the strength to make more on the demo
at least that's what I would do =/

Nice demo. ;D

Has a few bugs though, after you die you can still shoot rockets and move left and right (although youre invisible and dont obey gravity). :)

Bug Report #01

Frequency: 100%

Synopsis:
When the "Life" value is reduced to "0", the user's character disappears from the screen, is locked to the Y axis, becomes invulnerable to damage, and can walk through walls.

Conditions:
1. The "Life" value is reduced to "0".

Steps:
1. The user's character is killed by the zombies.

Results:
When the "Life" value is reduced to "0", the user's character appears to be pushed diagonally upwards by a zombie, disappears from the screen, and its position is locked to a value on the Y axis. The user may move the invisible character left and right, and fire weaponry. The user's invisible character is invulnerable and does not collide with the the vertical boundaries on the X axis.

Expected Results:
When the "Life" value is reduced to "0", the game is halted and alerts the user that the user's character has died. The user's character fades from the screen, cannot move on the X and Y axes, and cannot fire weaponry. The game continues to process in the background of the user-character's death notice, and allows the user to restart the game or level.

Bug Report #002

Frequency: 100%

Summary
When the user's character jumps or falls into a corner of a platform block, the user cannot move in the direction of the platform block.

Conditions
1. The user's character is alive.

Steps
1. The user's character jumps into a corner of a platform block. [OR]
2. The user's character falls into a corner of a platform block.

Results
The user is prevented from moving its character towards the direction of the platform block; however, the user can move its character away from the platform block in order to force its character to fall to the next object or boundary.

Expected Results
The user is not prevented from moving its character towards the direction of the platform block, or is entirely prevented from jumping or falling onto a platform corner if the user's character jumps or falls onto a platform corner.

Now all you have to add is either ninjas, pirates or robots, or a combination of them, and you can compete!

Cute, I love zombies. I don´t have time to help with original art, but I have some leftover zombies lying around from previous projects. If you don´t mind that they´ve been released you can use them if you want. If you´re interested, mail me.

Dude I am all over that. I will add all of those...plus penguins and some aliens. It should be the 6 elements IMO.

Great demo! (Should be revising for my Maths GCSE this afternoon, but you're game is addictive. Keep on pressing refresh and doing it again and again!)
Is it just those 4 enemies in it or isn't it loading properly?

Should be a great game when it's done. You're going to finish the contest before anyone!

Hope my game will be as good as that for 4E4.

cheers

Cool idea... I highly suggest using lynnemusic.com for music, it fits the mood perfectly. Plus, you already have two elements (Robots and zombies)

Update:
A lot of progress has been made. I made a new Demo. This time it is download only and runs fullscreen.

Design doc:
Rough rough draft. Started by Das Otto actually. Wouldn't mind having help from another programmer to finish it.

Staff needed:
I now have an artist (Das Otto) on board. We are welcoming additional programmers/artists to help out. Sound effect designers / musicians / writers are also welcomed.

Selfish bump!

Still looking for help. I'll be gone from July 13 - Aug 25, so it would be nice to find someone to coordinate things while I'm in South America (buying cheap whores).

You can't catch upto me in 6 weeks. I have come along way with the code. I haven't uploaded the latest demo yet, but I will before I leave for Peru. This is a great opportunity to work with 2 dedicated members stuck on finishing a game.

And since the engine is coming along so smoothly, I have big plans for it when I get the first run of the game complete. Throw in some rpg elements and such. And yes I can do that without a game design and such, I have it all figured out (*evil laugh*).

Peace.

Uploaded a new demo. I threw in a mock story for testing purposes. Still looking for a variety of members.

Demo (no music)

Stolen mp3's (19mb)

It will work without the mp3's, but the music demonstrates the mood I was aiming for.

Brainfog - Static-X

You've got a real problem with fast computers. I cross a screen in approximately 0.1 second. You should implement framerate-independant movement.

Y.
