how about if we get a board for people who want to do a public beta? that would make life so much easier, if we could just post our games to the board, and have enthusiastic people download it and find bugs and crap...

Most people use the announcements section for that. Of course, those people have there own web sites too. I wuold suggest putting up a page at some simple free server like Homestead that has your game uploaded and then post the link in the announcements section.
