Hi, I am new to Direct3D having been doing 2d stuff for a while via DX7, but I am now biting the bullet and have gone to DX8 and wanting to do 3D. I have not a lot of math knowledge and was wondering if I have to understand all the formula for rotation, translation etc...I have a good 3d gfx prog book with the formulas for doing all sorts of cool stuff but the math is heavy. Does D3D help in doing stuff like line drawing, poly edge detection, back face culling etc..? The coding is not much of a problem it''s just the math! Anyhelp is very much appreciated. sTeVe

You''ll need to know how to work with the matrixs(WORLD, VIEW and PROJECTION) in order to make render a scene. For function to make colision detection you should use the D3DRM from DX7. DX8 does not come with such functions.

Hope this help, ChMar.
