Starting a new game making Team

Original Post
ok I'm new to gamemaking and trying to put a team together to get started on some of my ideas. If you can help at all please reply and I'll email you. This is my first idea for a game. The Great Outdoors Features: Build, buy, and place your stands, blinds, and camps in the place best for you. Hunt is various places, and weather Buy supplies from the monthly Great Outdoors magazine. Sell your kill to local meat markets or the local skinners. Game That May be hunted: Deer (White tail, Mule, Black Tail) Squirrels Hogs Rabbits Various Ducks and geese Quail and pheasant Various Skills: Dog Breeder: Dog breeders are a big part in the Great Outdoors. They can produce high quality hunting dogs to hunt various animals. The different dogs in game are: golden retriever, chocolate or black lab, beagles, deer dogs, and rat terriers English pointers. Dog Trainer: Can’t seem to get your dog to listen or hunt. Send them to the local dog trainer. These dog trainers have built their way up from the bottom to try to get the best rank in training. The better the dog hunts the better the trainer reputation gets. But remember not every dog out there is the best some dogs may hunt poorly or not hunt at all. Special Features of Trainer: Trainers can build their own training pens to train dogs instead of leasing land and hunting with them. Trainers may also purchase live animals to help them train the dogs. The Tracker: The tracker has skills in tracking various animals and using traps to catch live animals. These skills are very useful. The tracker provides the dog trainers with live animals to train the dogs. The Hunter: Of course the hunter hunts the animals in the world. Other Details: You may only choose two skills that could reach 100 in skill level. Other skills will only be about to reach 40 in that skill. Not all dogs will be the best some will be good some will not. IF not 100 in dog breeding skill you can only have 6 dogs in your kennel and only use 3 while hunting. If you have 100 skills in dog breeding you can have up to 12 dogs (not including puppies) and can only use 3 while hunting. Online Features: Save up your money and build your own hunting camp. Start your own hunting club (must have leased or owned land to hunt on, and have Camp) Each camp may host hunting events as in (open day feast, Feeltriles) Each camp may have three members as game wardens (Make sure everyone hunting with license and stop people from hunting on your lease) You may sell trade or buy various items or dogs Each week you will receive a newsletter of the top 5 hunting dogs of each breed, who owns them and the top 5 dog trainers. I would like to stay on that line for my first game please reply
You should start by detailing what skills you yourself bring to the team.

All i done so far was make a couple shards for Ultima online im more of a manager and tester. And i come up with all the ideas
And if that's the case, then why exactly do I need you? If I'm a talented game producer or programmer or manager or artist, I'm better off just implementing the the game myself and taking the lion's share of the credit (and cash if it goes commercial) rather than working for someone who's got no experience heading up a development team.
Quote:I can read just fine. You should provide details of the completed multi-person computer-related projects you've managed thus far. Being a manager requires more than just saying "I'm a manager".

I Have made and hosted may servers for the online game ultima online witch had 200 plus players online at a time
And were there others that worked with you on that project that did the work, while you managed them?
I'll admit that your ideas are very good, but if you're planning to be independent, you HAVE to learn programming. Otherwise, your game will not get written. Nobody will listen to you if you have no skills. Being a "manager" is no help to your game. It's the PROGRAMMERS not the designers that make things happen. And testers are useless until the final stages of the game.
You may want to read this, tpopcaz (and some other people might want to read it too). It's quite educational, and I suggest you listen to it, especially the second and third stanzas.
"I want to build a game today,"
Said a newbie one fine day.
"An MMO it's sure to be,
Where everybody plays for free.
Peer to peer should cut my costs,
It's lightning fast, no data loss.
And since I don't know C++,
Visual Basic is a must.
The graphics will be next to none,
Supported by my Voodoo 1.
My cable modem's on its way
Till then we run at 56K
I need some coders, plus a few
artists and a sound guy too.
I cannot pay a salary,
Until we're big, you'll work for free.
Now, my ideas you'll have to heed,
Cause my role is the project lead."
The post sat quiet for a while
Because it's contents were so vile.
And then while feeling very nice
We gave the newbie sound advice
"Your vision is so very grand,
but things won't go as you have planned.
You need to start with something small,
Or else you're guarunteed to fall."
He answered us in fits of rage:
"You're discriminating by my age!"
Our very souls he tried to crush,
with words to make a sailor blush.
"Your deaths are sealed by my hand!!!"
With that the newbie became banned.
To this day you're sure to find,
others of the newbie's kind.
Some will listen and improve,
Some will just throw off our groove.
And when the newbies scream with hate.
At least we have a nice escape.
We can leave and come back later,
be glad you're not a moderator.

The Ballad of the Overzealous Newbie
Please. It's educational, if the newbie is willing. This is NOT a flame. It merely tells the newbie that he is not alone, there are more like him, and how we see him. It also tells him that he can improve, and by listening. I was not flaming him.
Tpopcaz, I'm going to give you some advice. Learn to program. You will not regret it. Start small, make small games at first (Pong, Tetris, etc.) then make them online. Then make bigger games, make them online, etc.
I also suggest you hang around the For Beginners forum while you are learning. Especially read the FAQ of that forum, it will tell you everything you need to know(the Start Here page is a little outdated).
You have treatment of new users rants? I was not aware of those... could you please direct me to one?
