I'm thinking of going to the GDCE this year but I noticed that the site says that no one under the age of 18 will be allowed on the show floor. I'll be about a month shy of 18 when the conference rolls round. So, to anyone who's been to the GDC or GDCE before, how strict are they about this age requirement (considering I look old enough)? Thanks.

Thanks, I just really don't want to cough up that much cash if I'm just going to be turned away.

I'm planning to go this year - money providing. Last year they didn't ask me for ID, but I don't get ID'd much so it depends on what you look like really. If they do ID you I doubt appealing to their "good nature" is going to work.

They'll probably check your ID to make sure that you are who you say you are. I don't know whether the normally check your DOB when they do that, and I imagine that if there's a big line, they're going to be in a hurry, but there's always a chance that they'll notice and do the math.

Now that I think about it, it seems like when I attended GDCE last year I just handed them a business card, so you may be able to get away with that (at GDC I don't have to give them anything, since their PR people know me - which I guess means I'm not the best person to comment on this).

Okay, assuming I get the money together I'll risk it. Sounds like they put in the clause to stop little kids from running around and getting hurt.
