A+ Certification

Original Post
I just wanted to let you all know that I''ll be offering a free A+ course starting in January of 2001. For those of you who don''t know, A+ is a certification that gives you a knowledge of the hardware/software aspects of computers. After taking the class, the students will be able to take the CompTIA A+ test to get certified. However, I would also like to invite anyone else that wants to learn to come to class. I will not require you to take the A+ test. The purpose of my course is to learn and have fun while doing it. Even people who just want to program should look into learning about A+, since it does help you to have a much better understanding of the computer and how it works.
If you are interested in signing up, please send an e-mail to a_plus_teacher@hotmail.com Include the words "A+ Certification" in the subject line.
If you have any questions whatsoever about A+ or the class, then feel free to post them here. I am very anxious to get as many people as possible signed up for the class.
***Please note that I am not affiliated with the CompTIA company or any other training academy. I will not be making any money from this course whatsoever (I''ll probably end up losing money by teaching it, but, oh well...)
Check out CompTIA''s website at http://www.comptia.com
They have info on what A+ is and if there is a testing site near you.

Hey everyone,
Sorry I wasn''t able to get back to you, but I''ve been really busy prepping for this course. (Writing a syllabus, making a lesson plan, etc.) To put down all of your fears about the course: Yes, the course will be online.
To teach the course, I am going to more or less write an A+ book as we go. It should be better than an A+ book from the store, however, since I won''t be caught up in things like release dates, publishers, etc. This course will be as complete as possible. I have read three different sets of books that all claim to be the best out there. They all seem to fall short in certain areas. (Some will cover hardware sufficiently but then leave you hanging in the networking department while others will cover networking but leave you hanging in the hardware department.) I''m going to combine all that I''ve gotten from these books into one bigger book that will actually deliver enough to help you pass the tests.
As for the money issues, the class is free, but the test from CompTIA will cost you whatever they charge. Like I said before, I''m not out to make CompTIA money, I''m just trying to educate people. If you don''t think you''ll be taking the A+ test (due to money restraints or whatever else) then still come in and take the class. Everyone has something to contribute.
I''ll be getting back to the people that e-mailed me as quickly as possible. The only reason why it''s taking me so long is because I''m busy planning the class.
By the way, thanks for your enthusiastic response to the course. I''ve asked people on other message boards, but they all just seem to not really care about saving a thousand dollars. (Must have something to do with the weather.)

Excuse me pouya, but I am not a nerd. I am just a little insane and enjoy my games... I am cooler than most of my friends tho'' (which isn''t saying much I suppose, though they now jack all about programming much at all
)
