Can someone give me a good idea for my science project for my chemistry class? It doesn''t have to be on chemistry it just has to be an experiment. I need a short easy project and I need an answer kinda fast cause the project is due next week. Thanks, Bino

Try dumping styrofoam peanuts into a small amout of Acetone. It''s fun and it''s not dangerous(unless you drink the Acetone, of course.)

I just know I''m gonna catch hell for this...

Hm.. I've got an idea... :D

How about an experiement on the effects of a small powder charge on a 3 inch block of potasium chloride refined wax compount.

heres how you do it:

If you are offended by knowledge of creation designs for a low cost, effective, makeshift plastic explosive, readno further.

Ok.. I warned you.. But just to be safe I'll leave out one of the ingredients wich I will only reveal to Mr. Bino should he honestly choose to take up this experiment.

What you need:

1} Potassium Chloride (sold as a salt supliment at health food stores)

2) Bleach

3) Petrolium jelly

4) Wax (a good sized candle will do)

5} ? (mistery ingredient)

Ok step one:

In a metal pot add 2 tablespoons of potasium chloride to

oh wait, i forgot!

Nevermind.

See yah!

That was an actual recipe for homeade plastic explosives. I seem to have blacked out while giving the ingredients. Here it goes:

Here''s a good one. Take some vinegar, some baking soda, and some pepsi. Get a jar, and quickly dump all the ingredients inside. Then seal it.

You''ll have ten seconds before it explodes (of course, it really depends on the size and strength of the jar).

This experiment is best conducted outdoors. Once you seal it, remember to run for your life.

** Before I tell you about these tricks, it is vital that you do not try them at home. Do them at a friend''s house **

Put some aluminium into the microwave. You will be amazed at the results. Oh, and if you put a lightbulb in the microwave it lights up. Also, compare the relative heat resistance of steel and cheeze pizza. You will be surprised at the result. Another cool thing (not) to do is to take some iron (III) oxide (rust to you and me), combine it in equal amounts with some powdered aluminium and then put a magnesium fuse in, and light it. You get molten iron with some aluminium oxide in it. Great reaction to do.

There''s also loads of cool stuff involving mains electricity and a tesla coil (making a lightbulb light up in your mouth). But I won''t go into that.
