Hello... I am a programmer from Taiwan.. I get into a big trouble..I create the primary surface under the CMainFram class window creating by VC++6.0. I use DDShow to play the AVI file. The last frame always remain on the screen. then I use Create() to create a button , but the button is always invisible. If I teminate the program, the button will show once. I am wondering if the primary surface can not co-exist with the CWnd window class creating by MFC ? It seems that the button is behide the primary surface. Does any method resolve this problem..?..I have tried for many days..I almost go crazy,,,,Longing for your kindly help....Thank you.... holk

I don''t really know that much, but have you tried using FlipToGDISruface? That would be the only thing that I could think of. Hope this helps!

I also have been struggling since the release of DirectX 8.0 to try to get an avi file to play on a directdraw surface. I am not very expert, but will offer what I think I have learned. Apparently, if you set the cooperative level to EXCLUSIVE in creating a DirectDraw Surface originally then you MUST go through the Overlay Mixer to stream video. Check out the DirectDraw Exclusive Demo (ddrawxcl) in the samples directory of DDSHow for an exapmle of a Class based approach to implenting the overlay mixer and displaying an avi file. I haven''t yet had a chance to try to integrate this code into my current directdraw project, but maybe it will give you some ideas. I would be interested in the code you have created because i want the last frame of an avi to remain on the screen until the user clicks the mouse for the next scene. Can you post the code?
