Change window style

Hi there! How can I change style of window, which is created in WinAPI. I tried to use SetWindowLong(g_hWnd,GWL_style,WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW | WS_CLIPSIBLINGS | WS_CLIPCHILDREN); , but if I used it the window crashed.
