Alright, as some of you may know, I was recently banned as it looked like I posted the dreaded picture of...well...that thing... I'm not placing a name on it as I don't want to be suspended, but it stats with a 'G'. Anyways, it wasn't I who posted this picture, but someone overwriting my card (I posted in GDnet card game thread) on jumpjumpjump's server. Thus my post showed the new image, which was named the same as mine. Anyways, if - and I know this is a shot in the dark - the person who did this wanted to appologize via PM, i'd be rather happy, as I am curious to know who 1)made my rating fall 110 pts (or more) and 2) resulted in me getting banned just as I needed help. Anyone who knows who did this, I'd be very interested in hearing from you. I'd also just like to thank the mods for doing their duty, but also working very quickly to fix the mix up. Thanks guys! Odds are, the only person who knows is JumpJumpJump. His server more likely than not records all IP addresses, but if it was done through a proxy, or over AOL, you're most likely SOL.

jumpjumpjump should confer with the gamedev staff to compare IP logs and note commonallities.

That series of events sucks. Shame people do that sort of thing.

Given the high "density" of technically capable people on these forums, I'm sure someone will come up with some way of finding out whodunnit [smile]

Yeah it's perfect, even if he does respond to try to defend himself, he might as well be posting in chinese. (Either that or my intellect is so inferior that I am unable to fathom his pithy remarks. ;) )

Aye, that they did.
No, i'm not saying that they can hide, just that there isn't a log of the IPs :( And I don't want to randomly blame someone. I want to blame the bastard who did it.

No, i'm not saying that they can hide, just that there isn't a log of the IPs :( And I don't want to randomly blame someone. I want to blame the bastard who did it.

Technically, we arent RANDOMLY blaming somebody, we're picking somebody we don't like and blaming them. Its not like we pulled a name out of a hat.

Now it all comes together. I had seen the original card image, but when I refreshed the page a minute later the afwul g-pic showed up.

FYI I just logged back on had to mow the yard. I would like you to know it was I who reported you I am pretty sure in the report I added that I thought it might have been by mistake. I knew you didn't post stuff like that _Sigma so all that I really wanted was to have the post removed I am sorry you got banned. I did not however rate you down at all. As soon as I saw this post I thought it would be best to tell you. I even considered sending you a pm to this affect earlier but I am afraid I had to mow the yard and figured it could wait. So I would just like to publicly apologize for your being banned.

I also reported it and specified that the use was involuntary, tough, at first, I had assumed it had been because of hotlinking to some... site. [rolleyes]
