symphony

An alpha release of Symphony OS has just come out. So what do you guys think of it? I tried it out on my family's computer, and I have to say, I don't like it at all. It reminds me way too much of Microsoft's Activity Centers. Not only are task-based designs like this incredibly inneficient for anyone except for the complete beginner, they're also limiting in functionaly and expressiveness. An OS/linux distro like this might be okay for someone who uses the computer every week, but it would be a mess for anyone else. Even then, those people would probably be more comfortable with something like a palm pilot, whose target market is people who can't use computers, or that aren't willing to learn how to.
