Hi, Well, I lied, just one needed :p. I have some solid ideas for gaming netcode (based upon a peer-to-peer network). Basically I need a programmer who has skills in network designing/programming and knows enough C++ to create some sample client/server programs. Note, this is not a "Hire a guy to do my idea" job. It's an opportunity to flesh out some ideas and /help/ me create a decent test which I can deploy on a number of computers and servers. I can't do it all on my own and I like results sooner rather than later. Thanks for your time, alot :p Adil Karim EDIT: Wow, just read that "Read before posting" Post. VERY sorry, I'll do the details now: Team name: Die Cast Studios, really, not a registered company. Just something I thought up :p. Project name: Rampant gopher net code Brief description: Net code based on a peer-to-peer architecture. This has been in production for about 2 weeks. Note: This is a TEST project, just to see if the net code theorem could work in the real world. Target aim: None at the moment, just researching to see if is a viable projct in the future. Compensation: If, indeed this does work as planned (or as I hope!) I will make the programmer part of the team and will recieve royalties on the product (if it good enough to be marketed. Technology: Target systems: cross platform, but the bulk of the programming should be done on windows, so testing is more simple. I am using Visual C++ Express 2005 Beta 2 (Available free from Microsoft MSDN) use of it is nice, but not needed. Talent needed: Talent: Good mind, healthy attitude, ability to troubleshoot and think problems out. Background with network programming is very nice but expertise is not needed. Solid C++ skills. Team structure: Just me so far, I am doing net code design and sample implementation (I can't do it all by myself, I don't /want/ to do it all by myself). I've pseudocoded alot of the routines for packet sending and checking but I still need to finalise some of the ideas of checking routines for packets, compression algorithms and DoS prevention. Website: Well, there is NOTHING there. At all. But you asked for it :p. www.diecaststudios.net Contacts: dilinator@gmail.com Additional Info: Nothing, said all I want to say, thanks :) Again edit: "This cant be your first post - again it goes to slowing down the rush of OMG OMG join me. Spend some time here and learn where you are before you post." I found this in another thread. I understand that many of you won't pay attention to this thread due to my post count but please do. Also, if it's any consolement, I have been reading this site for a long long time, I've read almost every article on programming and game design. Also I read the forums almost every day.
