Cake Utensils

Okay, I was having a discussion about using different utensils to eat cake, and I have a theory about a relation between what utensils a given person eats cake with and the geographic region they lived in when they were 12. For example, I lived in Belgium when I was twelve, and I eat cake with a spoon.

A teaspoon - or, if you want to be fancy, one of those little dessert forks.

I lived in the Netherlands, and I eat my cake with a cake-fork. Unless it's urinal cake, and then I eat it with my feet.

Fork if its just cake..
If the cake is served with ice cream, it may be more prudent to use a spoon.

I use my fingers, a spoon or a fork, depending on how gooey it is.

Fork if it's fluffy, spoon if it's more liquidy/creamy.

Depends on what is available (i.e. at the table). But, given a choice, I prefer a spoon. That way, I can get all the crumbs easier. (From Philadelphia)
