I just started learning C++ programming, using the book ''Teach yourself C++ in 21 days''. I was wondering approximately how long it will take until I am able to write a simple game, such as tetris, and what books I should turn to after this. It''s not that I''m impatient, I just though it would be nice to have a general timeframe. Thanks!

After you have _finished_ that book and _learned everything in it_, you should get ''Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus'' from Amazon.com or somesuch and read that. That will tell you how to make a 2D game.
