For those of you who remember the advertising for Project Akralon's "The Fallen", this title was put on hold while the team was restructured and the goals reassessed. Presently, we have found that using a full team from the very start is premature and does not provide adequate resources to keep each member busy. Therefore, we have reorganized the DD (design doc) and goals to improvise. To start, we are focusing solely on Design and Art. Our primary goal at this stage is to complete documentation, and all artistic resources that the programmers will need to begin producing the game. Thus, we are currently looking for 3D artists who specialize in either character, environmental or architectural style art. Texture artists are welcome to apply as well. I will restate that this IS a project, these are not job positions, but can become those for anyone who shows faith in a project I believe is bound for success. The brief synopsis is this: This game will feature the problem solving and interactive dialogue of the old Sierra classics (as in King's Quest, Space Quest and Quest for Glory), but will feature the eerie camera angles, ambient sounds, and dreary lighting of the horror genre similar to that of the Silent Hill and Fatal Frame. The game will use an isometric viewpoint, with screen to screen movement, and some scrolling. Method of combat is yet to be determined, though it will remain simplistic, as not to detract from the atmosphere of horror. The story is as follows: The moss-farming town of Iringrad, isolated in Drempwood Forest, has begun suffering terrifying nightmares - to the point of near total insomnia. Alik, a young knight from the Order of the Onyx Raven, has been sent to investigate the phenomena and also the strange mist that seems to keep the forest in a state of neither day or night. His job is to find whatever nameless evil is behind the nightmares, and the unusual sightings that have been reported, and bring it to light. What he will find is a deep and twisted history that originates from a dark and troubling truth. For those interested, please contact me at scaldwell@akralon.com. Also, if you have any interest, but do not meet the aforementioned criteria for applicants, feel free to contact me with any questions. We will eventually need to fill an entire team, and appreciate the support.
