PHP - creating a directory

mkdir(dirname, filepermission) File permission is a four digit number using the UNIX-based permissions.

if that doesn't work, make sure you actually have permissions to create a directory. Most well setup servers won't let you create directories in any arbitrary directory. The permissions on the mkdir function are for the created directory only.

ie. ifyou don't have permission to create a directory in a folder no amount of fiddling with the permission bits will fix it.
