Hmm.. Is the guy in the red and the M on his shirt supposed to be Mario? The vine is obviously a reference to Jack and the Beanstalk. Could the girl be princess peach? I get the feeling this is along the lines of something American McGee would do. Damn I loved Alice.
By the way, I'd like to point out that this is my thousandth post. [smile]
Oh, and lay off the acid. [wink]
edit: Thinking over it again, I'm not sure what made me think that it was a reference to Jack and the Beanstalk. Disregard that...
Ah... It's all Mario stuff. I forgot to look at the rest of the picture. Give me a break, it's 4AM.

I was searching for an unrelated picture in google image search when I found the same picture Yosh has as his avatar. I decided to check it out and it was the avatar of another person on another forum. One of the threads they started was called 'WTF?', which contained this picture.

I like Princess Peach's tattoo. It is a definite plus on the whore/slut scale. Now all she needs is another tattoo on her lower back and a belly button ring. Oh and the stilettos are a nice touch too.
I think Mario needs to sport a cigar for the mob look to really start coming into shape, then again, everything in the picture is in the game with exception to the tattoos and color palette.

I would love to see a drawing in this style of Zelda or Sonic. I might even try it one day myself, and then cry myself to sleep when I realise I have no skill in that area at all, and that I am nothing but a shallow, hollow husk of a man. I might even develop a drinking problem.

You drink. You get drunk. You pass out. No problem. Although we've already discussed how amatuer some of your drinking methods are, you're gonna have to work harder to develop a serious drinking problem! [lol]
That's a damned cool picture though, don't suppose there was any hint of who created it where you found it?
It reminds me of American McGee's Alice. Awesometacular.
luv it bebbe~

More interestingly, what would a game of this take on "Marioland" be like? Would Koopa and Co be a rebel force resisting the evil, murderous reign of Mario and his nepotistic sibling(s; we can throw Wario into the family if we fee like it)? Will Yoshi be a slave dinosaur, drugged out of his mind and forced to do Mario's bidding?
It's always fun when you see/read/otherwise experience alternative visions of a familiar legend, like Wicked.

I remember ages back there was a cartoon on Sonic, which was actually quite dark and it worked very well.
Sonic Underground?
"Dark" might be going a bit far. Then again, it was a Saturday morning cartoon...
I've been poking around on google for a bit, and I am pretty sure it was not that one (it seems a bit too cutesy). I think it may have been Sonic X. The Japanese version was tailored towards teenagers, and contained a bit of swearing (I think sonic gave Robotnick the finger at one point, which they edited out in the US version). I'm digging around the for the intro, since I at least remember how the show used to start.

Turns out it was the one known by most people as SatAM or Sonic Adventures (but there was another series called Sonic Adventures on at the same time, so most people just go by the name SatAM). To quote a description of the show, "SatAM boasted an impressive voice cast, including Tress MacNellie, Rob Paulsen, Jim Cummings, Cree Summer, and Tim Curry. The art & animation were also well above average quality. It was practically an antithesis of AoStH - emotional, dramatic, and extremely dark. SatAM also featured a continuing storyline."
The series started off a bit slap-stick cute, but got progressively darker as it went on.

Boolean, would the unrelated picture you were looking for be those new Mario, ahem, 'dress-up uniforms'?
That is one dark-looking picture.
As stated before, I'd love to see other cutesy games have this kind of makeover.
