I've been visiting GameDev for a long while now but I rarely browse the forums. That's probably because I'm used to the flipcode style but now that Flipcode's gone a lot of us will now be coming here I guess! What I liked on flipcode is that you could get all new messages from your last visit in a single list. You didn't have to go trough all the individual forums to get the new messages. Is there a way here, on GameDev, to get a flat list of all the new messages posted since my last visit only in the forums I'm interested in? I quickly looked at the forum options but didn't see anything to customize them the way I like - I probably only missed something obvious. Thanks!

You can try the Active Topics button in the top-right (flaming folder). That's simply topics ordered by which ones were updated most recently.

You can just open whatever forums you preffer and at the top left corner you'll find a yellow star that you can press to add that forum to your favorites, then in the main forum page just use the little minus sign to the right of every section and close them all leaving just open your favorites section. This will group your favorite forums, but won't group just the new messages. Maybe someone else can help you with that.

You can also use bookmarks to mark specific threads of your liking.
