Eric "Wackatronic" has suggested that the meetings be monthly, and I think we can all pretty much agree with that. What day will they be on? The last Saturday of the month, like the first meeting? On a related note, where should we meet? The dual-room meetingplace in Grapevine that John Hattan has suggested seems perfect, if we can all chip in a little to pay for rent. If we don't want to do that, where can we go? Will it be constant, or will it be determined on a month-to-month basis? Everyone should reply to this thread with their thoughts and opinions.
when you do something right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Although I won't be attending the first couple of meetings most likely due to my current financial situation and being so far from Dallas. But that office space sounds good. When I do come I wont mind throwing down a a few bills. However how much are we talking round about? Say 15 people attend (random number) how much would each expect to pay for such a place?

PS: My name is Billy and I live in New Braunfels. I love programming and havent been into game programming as long as some probobly. But I have had a decent amount of experience, most memorable was working with EDI on Mornings Wrath until this last december when I departed from being a full team member. I just wanted to give you all a little info about me. :D

As far as the exact meeting day, we should have everybody respond which day the meeting shoud be held.

I'm contacting John about the exact cost and possible time limits for the rental area.

I'm OK with weekends as long as I can plan for them.

I'm good for weekends. During the week is hard due to my "other" work. I'm also not perfectly stable financially just yet. My baby was born about 3 weeks ago and we still haven't quite recovered just yet.

You never recover. :) I have experience 2 times over. Believe me, it's like in the movie Madagascar, "Cute and cuddly boys, cute and cuddly" and then they turn 15 and the claws come out!

I just responded in another thread. You guys have too goldurned many d/fw meeting threads going on :)
(my byline from the Gamedev Collection series, which I co-edited) John Hattan has been working steadily in the casual game-space since the TRS-80 days and professionally since 1990. After seeing his small-format games turned down for what turned out to be Tandy's last PC release, he took them independent, eventually releasing them as several discount game-packs through a couple of publishers. The packs are actually

I'll be making sure the rent is paid prior to the meeting. We'll leave a jar on the table for those who can pitch in, but I'm not going to quibble over $20. This way anyone who wants to come can feel free to do so without worrying about pitching in.
