I just bought a laptop recently and I havent been able to find my Visual Studio 2003 CD's so I was wondering if Visual Studio 2005 supported all the components of .NET 1.1, specifically the visual designer so that I can continue practicing for the MCAD exams since I'll be tested with VS2003. Hopefully not much has changed visually between those 2 versions so that I can atleast do some work as well. Also, since VS2005 is still beta, does it have many bugs? meaning will it be a pain in the a$$ to develop programs or is it pretty much usable? Also, whats the difference between Visual C# express and the Visual web designer? will it pose a problem with the MCAD exam contents since those two components are now seperated? If anyone could shed any light on the above mentioned points I'd be grateful. Thanks.

I'm 95% sure that MSVC 2005 (8.0 beta) does support .NET 1.1. The other stuff, I'm not sure yet because I haven't gotten an opportunity to use it :(

What do you mean by "supported"? It's just an IDE. It doesn't have much to do with whether a component can be used or not in your application. If you mean "will the visual designer work with .NET 1.1 components?", the answer is yes. You can prove this to yourself by adding a 1.1 component to the toolbox and dragging it onto a new form.
