For those of you that don't know who I am, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jonathon Davis. I have 5 years of C/C++ experience, 3 years of DirectX and 2 years of OpenGL. I designed the engine and tools for "Fall of Troy" made by Mahdavi Games and Strategy First. The game is still under development. That on the side, I have designed many engines in the past and would like to present one of my latest engines "Quantum Engine" to the public which can be viewed on my online portfolio. It runs under Windows and Linux. I am still looking for a serious team. While I prefer paid work only, if your team is stable, talented and have at least a full design document with concept art, I might be interested. I have also considered recruiting a team to finish one of my projects featured on my portfolio, such as Knightmare and Marble Insanity, viewed below. Atonement [rts/rpg]
Knightmare [action/rpg] Editor - allows for basic map editing, move walls, place doors and other various objects along with lighting. It has a built in per-pixel lightmap generator that should work well with the new map structure I have in mind that should increase the detail in the levels drastically. Right now, the levels are very primitive but you can see even with lack of detail the combination of lights can make the scene look fairly good even when in the below screenshot only has 12 polygons in view
In game - not much going on since I never had many models made for the game since the purpose of the demonstration was to test character and camera control, path finding, ray to wall intersect tests for per-pixel lightmapping, volumetric stencil shadows and experiments with real-time per-pixel lighting with different methods of shadow calculations. I am currently adding new shaders to show off some new effects that I have been cooking up over the past few months and revamping the map structure for more detailed levels. These screenshots are based off of about 1 month of work including the map editor, since then, I have been working on pure special effects. The multiplayer is also functioning with support for up to 16 players, so far, basic character interaction and chat system are available.
Marble Insanity [platform] I had so much fun working on this game. It took me about 2 weeks to get a fully functional build. I have 2 videos available on the project site to show the progress of those 2 weeks. Very fun game but for some reason I never finished it. I probably will one day because I had so much fun testing it. This game also features multiplayer for up to 4 marbles rolling around to knock each other out of the arena and a few other game modes.
