I require a 2D pixel artist for my Cell phone game. There will also be 2-3 images required for the website. The game graphics include the following Approx 30 22x22 tiles (some will be mirror images) A splash screen 176x220 at most A winner and game over screen at most 176x220 (not essential) A game name banner for the website A logo for the website. Team name: N/A Project name: Mission Critical (working title) Brief description: I am currently creating a 2D cell phone game. It is a vertically scrolling game where the player must navigate a motorboat up a river avoiding the river edge and obstacles in the river. As the player progresses the river gets narrower and the boat speeds up. The player wins when the boat runs out of fuel. Target aim: Freeware, however if possible I will try and sell it. Compensation: Name in credits and link from the website, however if I sell it I am happy to split royalties. Plus a free version of the game. Technology: As I only require an artist they are free to use whatever program they wish to produce the artwork. Talent needed: One 2D artist - please send me some of your work if you have it or a link to a webpage. Team structure: Only me as programmer. - I currently work as a C developer in my day job but I am writing this game in J2ME as I would like to persue game development more and specifically AI. 2D Artist - This is you, looking for either an experienced artist or a new artist trying to get into the gaming industry. As long as you are keen then you will do fine. If you can send me some samples or a website to look at of your work then please do. Website: http://www.geocities.com/gch412001/ This is a very quick demo site just so you can see something about the game. Contacts: Please contact me via gch412001 (at) yahoo (dot) com. Additional Info: The game is mostly complete. With proper artwork for the game and artwork for the website the game will be complete for version 1. The game has currently been test only on a Sony Ericsson Z800 but should work on all cell phones with screen size of 176x220. Porting to other cell phones will be done once this version is complete.
I have an artwork specification available with screen shots of the existing graphics and further details of what is needed. Feedback: ENCOURAGING ONLY [Edited by - Greig Hamilton on September 20, 2005 8:19:43 AM]

I have now added some images of the existing artwork, as you can see it would be great to have an artist to help me out.

There is also now a link to a temporary website with a few more screenshots.

Thanks,
Greig

Are there really no artists out there looking to show off their talents? I'm really keen and committed to getting this project finished so your artwork will definitely be available for everyone to see!

If you aren't interested then can you please comment why you aren't keen to do some artwork? I realize that money would probably fix the problem but at present the best I can do is to share any future profits from the game. So if you have any other comments then please tell me so that I can fix these problems.

Thanks

Looks pretty cool to me, and an almost complete project is always promising. I'd encourage any artists who want to see thier work in a completely cell-phone game to check out this one.

altough I usually dont do unpaid stuff, you do seem willing to share money when you're getting it, wich is more than most other *you get credits in the game and I become rich* coders out there.
I dont think its alot of work (a week in the most, excluding the 3 splash screens.), so if you're still looking, I might be interested.
