Hi guys, I've got my openGL Tetris clone up & running now. I want to create a 'b' build to ensure I keep all my original code safe. Im using VC++ 2003. I create a new Win32 project, then copy & paste my original main file into the new main file, copy my original C++ data type files into the appropriate folder & add as existing resources & then link the OpenGL libraries. But I'm getting all sorts of errors now. But I'm using the exact same code. Can any1 suggest a better way of doing this? Thanks for any help!!

If the error is "LNK1955: Cannot link while you have a pancake on your head", the link is failing because you have a pancake on your head. Remove the pancake and retry the build.

If it's a different error, then you'll need to post what it is before we can help you.

Why not just close VS.NET and copy over the project directory? (Which would include the project file)

That just made my day![smile]

I suggest doing either one of the already posted suggestions. However you'll still probably need to update at least some of the project settings, particularly any absolute paths, and options like warning levels, and whether or not files use precompiled headers and stuff.

Yeah, this can be a pain. It's probably easier to make a copy of the project folder, then use it as a backup. Then your paths and workspace info will remain intact. And if something goes wrong, just get rid of the new version and rename the backup folder to its original name.

Rated up for that. [grin]

Sneftel, the error has nothing to do with pancakes thank God. Do you get many 'pancake on your head' related errors? Maybe you are using your pancake maker incorrectly! Try using an IDE, it will make the process of creating games a lot easier. I promise!
