Hi everyone, Can you tell me if you ever had any major problems with the GUI controls from the DirectX SDK? Is there any hardware on which those controls won't run? I need to create some dialog boxes for a game and we (me and my client) were thinking of using the controls. They target GeForce3 and up hardware (pixel shader 1.0 minimum). I have only minimal experience with the DX GUI and am not very fond of the post-processing shader they seem to depend on (read that somewhere, not actually checked yet in the source code). So, please describe your experience with them, even if it's good experience / you had an older version of them. (I am planning to use those that came with the August SDK version). Thank you very much! Tudor Tihan

Hi, I have used them a bit and have had no problems with them. Lowest hardware I think was GeForce 3. Also a Radeon 9700. No problems on either.

I have always liked the GUI, too. The vs/ps 1.0 requirement is really low these days, so it shouldn't really be a problem. The text boxes are really nice, since they provide all the support needed for IME (ie Chinese and Japanese characters) and stuff like that. It would save you a lot of time.
