I'm creating a set of classes that can control basic user interfaces for my games. I want to try to avoid using textures for my windows because they do not permit sizeable controls and windows. Is it very efficient to create interface appearances via mathematical procedures? Some MMORPG's you see have very fancy looking windows, with shaded title bars, etc. They are even sizeable. Do they use textures or pixel math to draw the interface? Which is recommended? I also have no idea of the math behind drawing interfaces without using textures. Any help would greatly help. Thank you!

textures can stretch. or you can have a left corner texture, right corner texture, everything in-between texture, and draw left, right and tile the inbetween texture in the distance between them.
