September 22nd, 6:44pm, Kyra-Lee Sauder was born! I'm now a proud father of the cutest little girl, with 2 hours of sleep in the past 2 days. I just thought I'd share the happiest moment in my life with you guys, since you've all been very helpful with my C++ learning experience! If you wish to delete this thread because it's completely off topic in a game development forum, then I understand... Just no flames of how this shouldn't be posted here please :D Thanks! Regard, Tom Sauder

no flames. should be in lounge, but with the amount of sleep you've had it's forgivable (by me anyways). by the way: congrats... and make sure the child learns C first. they should always learn C first.
As your leader, I encourage you from time to time, and always in a respectful manner, to question my logic. If you're unconvinced that a particular plan of action I've decided is the wisest, tell me so, but allow me to convince you and I promise you right here and now, no subject will ever be taboo. Except, of course, the subject that was just under discussion. The price you pay for bringing up either my Chinese or American heritage as a negative is - I collect your f***ing head.

You have an opportunity to breed a programming genius. Teach your child all about computers as young as 2 or 3 years old. Get them to learn everything they possibly can. Make your child learn C++ as they learn English.

Alternatively, make the child a socially apt and well balanced kid. It's like The Sims, I'm all excited.

Now you have a reason to buy this, or this, or this (and don't forget it's companion).

And for when she is a little bit older...This one.

Before anyone asks, mine is due within a few weeks and my wife wont let me get any of these (I will, but wont tell her).

BTW,
Congrats!!!!! Now get your huntin' license and get lots of practice the next 14 or so years.

Congrats on the little one!

My wife and I are about to have a little boy. We had a little scare with her blood pressure being high but it is down now. I will post as soon as he is born. Who knows if the doctors call today we will have to go have her induced. So I could be a father as early as tomorrow.

BTW: I already don't get any sleep between work, college, and programming. lol

Yea, we got induced because of high blood pressure, but the baby is 100% healthy, and my wife is healthy as well (swelling is lasting a bit more than usual but that's because of the blood pressure) and her blood pressure is dropping (now at 135/89)

And yes, even though it's a girl, I plan on teaching her programming so she can be one of the few females in the programming business! Plus, maybe she'll teach me a few tricks as I get older :)

This is definately the most exciting/best time of my life!

I'll post pictures, but I have no idea how (never have in my 2+ years being at gamedev) So if someone wants to tell me how, I'd be glad to post pictures of my little angel! Now to get some sleep! :D

Go to www.photobucket.com and sign for a free account. Follow the instructions to upload the pictures, and when it's done, there will be three text lines under the picture. Copy paste the "HTML" one in a post and the picture will be there automagically.

I don't see how this could be considered off-topic, considering some of the stuff I've seen posted on these forums...

So, congratulations the birth of your daughter! Hope you can get some sleep soon!
