Hi all, Anyone ever seen this error message when doing a device reset: "All user created queries must be freed for un-managed devices before Reset can succeed. Reset Fails." ? I've googled and can't find anything. The docs don't seem to have anything either. What is a "user created query"?! My app is a windowed D3D app that uses WTL. The device is created okay. This happens when my window's OnSize handler is called (which happens when the app first starts). cheers sam

A user created query is a query created with IDirect3DDevice9::CreateQuery(). If your code doesn't call it directly, perhaps other code does. Are you calling the OnLostDevice() member of all of your D3DX objects (ID3DXFont, ID3DXSprite, etc etc)?

Thanks for the reply, Steve!

I don't know what other code would be calling CreateQuery; I certainly don't call it, and I'm not using any other libraries (this is all my own code). The only D3DX objects that I'm using are D3DXMESHes. They don't seem to have an OnLostDevice or OnResetDevice member. How can I invalidate/reset a D3DXMESH?

cheers

Just erase it or set it to 'nothing' before doing your device reset.
Then after your reset, recreate the resources.
