How do i go about collecting the data from within a html text field using VB so i can then save the data to a file?

You really have to be more specific. Are you doing this through ASP.NET? If that is the case, don't use an HTML input box specifically (it is doable, but not recommended).

create a new webform (aspx), draw your input box on it, edit the properties to give the box a meaningful ID and empty out the text. I assume you're getting the text when you click a button, so draw your button on the form and edit its properties as well. Double click the button and a code editor will come up for the Click event of the button. You can then get the text from the input box as inputBoxName.Text

if you're talking about vbscript, then no clue.
