We've had a thread about free stuff some time ago, but I haven't been able to find it, I thought it would be great to start a new one. I propose we all share our knowledge together in this thread about where to get free stuff we all like to play with. It may be about electronics or it may be books about software or anything else a typical GDNet member would find interesting. I start with two links I recently saw here on the GDNet lounge: Share what you've got! edit: Added new stuff I found [Edited by - Hedos on October 3, 2005 5:51:42 PM]

That microchip site doesn't have free 65816s to give away. :(

Wow, free chips. Anyone want to tell me what I should grab in terms of PIC controllers on this list?

Wow this is nice, I've always wanted to mess around with this stuff but havne't had the money to afford it. Like the guy above said, anyone recommend any PICs? How bout Radio Frequency Devices?

cool, wonder how many free samples of what I can get. I actually might really enjoy starting a business sometime dealing with custom hardware bits. Playing with hardware is a little more fun than programming I find, guess I'm studying the wrong field.

Ordering large grids of LEDs is fun.

I ordered samples from 4 or 5 places.. and already got two of them the next day even though I live in Canada! (From TI and Freescale)
It's really cool to have 6 free 32-bit CPUs [smile]
Will be hard to find an use for all that stuff.. I guess I can start building my giant transformer robot too now.

Hey everyone, received some more stuff and started building a digital clock with a 555 timer, a 7 segment led display and a few chips, really fun [smile]

I'm updating this thread in hope that by any chance someone might have something to share with us! If you do, I'll be glad to know!
