Team name: 12-42 Studios We are not currently a registered company, although we're looking into becoming an LLC in Washington State. Project name: Code-name: Blade Engine Brief description: This project was designed to alleviate the number of independent developers who attempt to make an MMOG project and fail. The distressing part about when the indie MMOG fails is that they normally loose all interest in trying again and give up all together. The goal of this project is to provide a complete turn-key solution for MMOG development. Listed below are the planned features; if you have anything to add, feel free to email me directly or reply to this forum posting. * UDP networking engine with encryption and compression. * Seamless map rendering without any loading times. * Direct3D 2D square tile world engine with possible isometric support later on. * Powerful scene graph object system allowing you to attach any object to any other object and have them update co-currently. Target aim: See the section below for more information; the development kit will be free to use for F2P (Free To Play) games, or a very mild license fee for shareware games. Compensation: Currently the development kit is planned to be licensed under a "free model" (EG: free to use for non-profit games, very small license fee otherwise) The pay model is currently unknown, but I'm willing to negotiate. Technology: Target system: Windows based machines that support at least .NET framework 1.1 Programming language: C-Sharp Other Tools: Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 or higher (2005 being ideal) Talent needed: We require a number of talented C-Sharp programmers for this project; the most important positions are listed below: * Lead graphics programmer - Must have a solid understanding of DirectX technologies and the C# language. * Lead server developer - Must have a firm grasp on common programming concepts (singletons, sockets, etc) along with an understanding of the C# language. * Database programmer - Should have a firm grasp of SQL syntax along with integration in a C# application using either MYSQL or MSSQL APIs. * Logic programmer - Should be ready to develop core technologies with myself; these include the seamless map rendering engine and scene graph. * Network programmer - Should have a very solid understanding of windows sockets using UDP protocols. An understanding of encryption and compression is a major bonus. There are a number of other smaller programming positions available, feel free to contact me personally for more information. Team structure: The team currently consists of two programmers; both of us are very skilled in the C-Sharp language but have full time jobs along with college. Therefore, we've had a very slow development progression to this point (which is something we plan to change very soon) I've been personally programming for a number of years and specialize in logic related development (AI, networking, engine design, etc) but lack in graphics programming knowledge for the most part. I also have an in-depth understanding of many languages, including: C/C++, C#, VB and PHP. Website: There currently is not a website for this project; at this point I suggest you view the forum link listed below. Contacts: email: nstrg AT 1242studios . NET forum: www.1242studios.net/forums Additional Info: If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me directly! [Edited by - nstrg on October 15, 2005 8:11:36 AM]

This project sound similar to the Primogen libraries I already have under development.

Would you be interested in cooperative development? (I need toolsets producing to the specs I have worked out - code can possibly be shared for a C# port, but I already have a business plan for licensing sorted out)

PM if interested.
Winterdyne Solutions Ltd is recruiting - this thread for details!
