I'm working on a project using QT with several OpenGL widgets. Within my OpenGL widget I have a paintGL function which is where all my GLUT drawing code goes. I need a library that will draw a text box, preferably with text that can be highlighted. I have seen some openGL toolkits that include textboxes, but it looks like you have to use their toolkit to create the window and everything. Ideally I would like to have the equivalent of: paintGL(){ ... glLoadIdentity(); glTranslatef(x, y, z); glDrawTextBox(height, width, "text..."); ... } Does such a thing exist? ---edit--- And before someone asks, no I can't do the textbox in QT. This is for a large screen display which uses 24 monitors powered by several computers. The only way a program can run on it fullscreen is if it's in OpenGL, because a program called Chromium sends out opengl commands to each computer powering each monitor, spreading the load out.
