I just redid my computer (format my drives and reload everything), and i reinstalled the DX SDK then the DX9 SDK june 2005 update. but when i run my same code i had, it says it's missing: Wretched2D Engine fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file 'd3dx9dt.lib' b4 i redid my computer, i had the october 2005 update, is that file from that? how would i get rid of that error?

I don't see this happening unless you saved your project before you reformatted, then loaded it after. Have you checked your linker? If its not linked, be sure to include your CURRENT .libs to your project. If all else fails, make a new project and copy your source files from the old project.

well, i'm linking all the lib files in code

IE: #pragma comment(lib, filename);

but then again, when i reloaded everything i WAS using VS.net 2002 and now i'm using VS.net 2003, could that be it? should i just make a new project then?

October 2004, you mean. The d3dx9dt.lib (Statically-linked debug D3DX library) has been removed since February 2005, I think. Link to d3dx9d.lib instead.

Interesting. The October SDK uses D3DX DLLs, so it shouldn't contain the old static debug library. Can anybody with the October SDK confirm this?
