Has anyone heard of or competed in the USACO? If so, what are your thoughts? My cousin informed me of this today, but unfortunately the preliminary online test has a time limit of 2 hours and I've got 2 hours of LA homework to do right now. For anyone who has 2 hours to kill and is in high school the beginning test is still good for another 6-8 more hours as of 11:12PM "USA East Coast" time.

I've competed and done well. It's a VERY worthwhile contest in my opinion. Their USACO Training Gate is an especially invaluable resource for preparing for their competitions, and for improving your programming and algorithmic skills in general (beware: it will take a LONG time to complete). Depending on the contest you are entered in (they preselect you for one), then the problems get extremely tough (for high schoolers at least, and I'd imagine most college students as well). If you're willing to put in the time, it might be definitely worth it though if you get a chance this coming summer to go to their training camp or even to compete for the USA!
