Short story: I've always since I was a wee lad wanted to make a dungeon master style game. I still do, even if you could make a much more impressive 3D graphic game in D3D/OGL. But my problem since I started coding has always been math. I'm one of those "flunked basic highschool math" kinda people (didn't even get a grade in my college math class...) I can just barely figure out how to work the pythagoran theorem, but that's about it. So, my question is simply: Is there a patient coder and good teacher out there, who'd preferably also be interested in doing a simple software raycasting game? Someone who is more versed in the dark arts of maths than me, (most people's dog would probably be actually), and wouldn't mind helping me out with this project. Your role would be pretty much as involved as you wanted to be. Bottom line is I'd really like to take a stab at raycasting. And I'd love to understand the math behind it. So this would be more of a learning project that anything else.
