why I have 802 rating??

People have rated you down because your tone has been rude. It's ok if you're new and need help learning OpenGL. But if your language is rough and you don't gladly accept the help given, people will tend to rate you down.

It's 722 now... posting about ratings is rating suicide.

Asking about a low rating is most often treated like an invitation to rate you even lower. It seems to me that it should be taken more as a request for information about how to improve your rating, but it doesn't yet work that way.

I think it's primarily because you were acting like a dick. Now, of course, it's more because you're complaining about it.

Well, now it is because any thread about one's rating is pretty much asking to be rated down.

From the style of your posts over in the OpenGL forum (especially that glVertex one), it's entirely your own fault. Maybe you should take a look at the following document before continuing to post:

How To Ask Questions The Smart Way

And to make it even easier for you, here's the version in swedish: Att ställa smarta frågor.

Good luck.

Your rating is: 621

I wouldn't really worry about it, people's ratings jump and fall every day.
If you really care about it though, just be kinder to people and help them.
Also, don't complain to much as it dosn't help.(The longer this thread goes
the more your ratings will drop.)

The code probably uses an unsigned integer [grin]

Best thread ever!

I saw the title of "??", and thought, "hmmm, now there's something interesting, I wonder what sort of mystery could be hidden inside there... it better be something that's actually worth clicking."

Definitely worth clicking!

Once, and exactly once. The ratings were clamped to 0 after that.

[lol] @ This Thread. You know you've spent too much time at GDNet when you've completely lost track of how many times this exact same thread has appeared...

To try and be a useful post... Noxir, the value of your rating will not really make any difference to what you can or can't do on these forums. You might get to 0, but you can still post/reply. You only need to pay it particular attention if you care about how the wider community sees you - effectively a choice as to whether you care about your public image.

Didn't the system allow that in the very early days.. I never saw it, but I remember hearing that it did happen at least once. Now I'm pretty sure it's clamped to 0...

A while back someone found a "hall of shame" list that was sort of the opposite of the stats top-50 ratings. I think the powers that be hid that one though.
