Hi, first question is: When a car like a frarai is driving and it breaks how much speed does it lose per frame. now the same question only for a banged up car. two, If a car traveling at 100k hits a non-movable object i.e a wall, how do i work out the force implied on the car or is just car's speed is 100k so the impact is 100k. anyway thanks but another question is what do you hink of a puzzle game meets a T OD game? (thats wha i am working on.) thanks

Assuming that the acceleration (deceleration) is constant, you can find the value by dividing the speed before "breaking" by the time it took to stop, or by computing 0.5 * speed2/distance. You should be able to look up those numbers somewhere. To get the change in speed per frame, you simply multiply that value times the duration of the frame. As far as the banged up car goes ... a banged-up "frarai" will stop as quickly as a normal "frarai" if the "breaks" are the same and it hasn't lost any major pieces.

I only answered 1 of the three questions. There are two left. Go for it.

For your second question, gamerking, you don't usually calculate force for situations like this, but use 'impulse'. For an elastic collision (much idealised), the car's speed will change from 100k to -100k. But that won't actually happen in the real world. What will happen is it will be more like

v = -v0 * 0.1

or even less. Try it out and see what you get.

Probably less, I can't imagine driving a Ferarri into a brick wall at 100km/hr and watching it bounce off at 10km/hr [smile]

BTW, the energy in the 'lost' 90km/hr goes into turning the Ferarri into a sardine can.
"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The nly verdict is vengeance; a vendett o
