trident problems :(

i have a trident cyberblade ai1 in my notebook and wen i try and play a game for instense sniper elite it comes up with direct3d problems,it says direct3d is not installed,but i cant get updates for it because i bought from a refurbisher and the xp that is on it is not validated wat can i do??????please help. thanx heaps...

Actually, this is an OpenGL programming forum; not really tech support. My suggestion is post on another forum because you would probably get better advice. For what its worth here's my opinion. You can either buy windows xp or install linux (or another free os). If you install linux you naturally wont get all the games that are associated with windows but you will still be able to use OpenGL, play a bunch of free games, and program your own OpenGL applications/games (which is more fun, and if you do we can help). You can also try to "WINE" games using Linux. However, as far as I know directx doesnt work well under WINE.
