ya. the host is phpBB.com. i gave a link to the website in my topic starter post above. that is the website i am creating the forum on.
phpBB is a forum system, they won't host the forum for you.

So.. you've never created or managed forums before, but you would like to start another game developer community with features/angles that GDNet doesn't offer - but you don't know what they are, and you're asking for us to think of them.
I'm all for people starting projects, but what exactly are you hoping to achieve?

that is why i am asking for tips, suggestions, and comments on developing forums. and i am also asking for tips, suggestions and comments on what people would like to see in gdnet(even though i can go into the "tips, suggestions, comments for gdnet" if really wanted to, or i could be creative and come up with my own cool features.?)

And phpBB is one buggy, security hole, we switched from it to drupal_forums becasue of how often we got hacked, and are now fixing to launch a new from scratch CMS with built in forum system because of bad experiances with phpbb.
is drupal_forums pretty good?

PHPBB works fine if you actually keep it updated, like anything.

My thoughts exactly.
enjoi5o50: I suggest you start thinking for yourself. While it is nice to get suggestions on things, it sounds to me like you're basicly asking us to tell you everything *you* want for your site...which as far as I can tell does not even exist yet.
EDIT: As for forums, I suggest you learn either PHP or ASP(.NET) (whichever your hosting allows), and code your own. You'll learn a lot more than if you went with some pre-made one.
For what you're trying to achieve, the best pre-built forum software you can possibly get, IMHO, is vBulletin.
does anyone know any popular web development communties like GDnet but focused on web development. i have googled it, but have only found, but it is JUST a forum. i am looking like fot a whole community,(again) like GDnet. and i want it to be popular so that i will get replies quickly, like GDnet, and not have to wait like a day to get a reply. so does anyone know any web developmeny communities like this? thanks.
