I never seem to win at the uptime game. Would it be okay if I just lied? Maybe I should invest in a UPS.
Edit: Since you asked, it was a Pentium II running Gentoo Linux.

my linux server was sitting at 65 days......until my nephew came round and decided it would be a great idea to turn it off! I nearly killed him! Needless to say he's now banned from "mission control"
Previously had it up to about 100 days, but not sure exact uptime. A powercut soon sorted that out :(

I rebooted my 12" PB 1.33 to install the new security patch. *sigh*
I had it going on 81 days just before the 10.3.9 patch came out, though -- then it was all kinds of reboots as Tiger came out and I had to patch everything else.

Am I the only one here who switches off every night? I just have no reason to leave it on.
Quote:If you need to leave your computer on for the night to pirate music then you have a pretty crappy internet connection (or an insane playlist)..

You probably aren't busy pirating music like the others here
Fight AIDS At Home gave me the perfect excuse never to turn off my machine =)
Ra has like totally stolen my computer.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>uptime
\\SERVER has been up for: 14 day(s), 15 hour(s), 14 minute(s), 57 second(s)
Windows 2000 box, running on an AMD 1700 XP, 768MB RAM.
It would be longer, but I keep getting Windows updates that auto-reboot my server. Also, it constantly has the "New updates are ready to install" icon in the system tray. Right after I install them and reboot, I get the icon again. The update is "Cumulative Security Update for Outlook-Express 6 SP1 (KB823353)". And I don't even use outlook. Windows hates me :(

9 hours 6 minutes, currently running ubuntu. I switch it off every night because there is no point having it on when I'm asleep other than for wang contests like this. Plus I get to shave a fraction off my electricity bill.
At one point (back in the day) I had an uptime of 13 days on Windows 98 and that really was the longest I could keep it runnning for. After that point it was so unstable it had to be put out of its misery.
