Please don't indicate that there will be payment involved ($$$ in thread title) when no such thing is likely. That's just false advertising.

wow. thank you for that enlightenment. read the post please before you write something like that. i clearly said that all profits will be split, meaning that as soon as the game becomes profitable, you will be paid. thank you again for that piece of advice!

What Vaevictis_A probably meant, is that the payment is only if the game is successful, which is by no means assured (no offense intended).

COULD being the most important word in that sentance.

Do Mcdonals advertise burgers that COULD cost $1.50?

Also, every other post here has the same compensation plan as yourself and the same likelyhood of actually making money which is very slim. Puttng $$$ in your thread title implies that you are somehow different to the others in that you will be rewarding peoples efforts with money when in actuality you will probably not be.

i fully understand that success is not guaranteed, but that still does not in any way consitute "false advertising", since I'm providing an opportunity that could result in being paid money.

A quick look through these forums should tell you how few indie games are even finished, let alone financially successful. I am not trying to discourage you, rather I am trying to help you avoid the situation of a royally pissed off dev team which has worked countless hours on a project only to discover that the payout is not what they had imagined.

I'm removing the "$$$" from the subject line to more accurately reflect the nature of the position you're offering. I understand your point that the position is not immediately a paid one, but it might steer people on the wrong track, especially since every "paid-on-success" position I've encountered in this forum does not use "$$$" or the like in its title.

Please confine further discussion in this thread to the OP's call for applicants.

best wishes,

I'm confused by the game idea. It sounds like a MMO-beat-em-up, which is bizarre. How does this work from the view of an engaging persistent universe?
Then you say it's browser-based, which is fine although I can't see why you'd do it this way. But how can you make a fighting game using only PHP & HTML?

I've just re-read your topic to see if I missed that it's turnbased, but no. Please elaborate - di you forget to mention &#106avascript/Flash/something else in order to make the game run on the browser?
